Travel agent update

Airnorth is delighted to announce that we have re-introduced a Monday afternoon service departing Wellcamp Airport to Melbourne return. The addition of the service is in response to the demand for same-day return business travel between the two destinations. The new service commenced on 02 September 2019 departing Wellcamp Airport and now allows those flying between Toowoomba and Melbourne to depart in the morning and be back home later that evening.

Airnorth now operates 10-weekly services out of Wellcamp Airport flying to Melbourne, Townsville and Darwin.

2. Holiday Services

Airnorth has added two extra services to Perth from Darwin and Kununurra in the lead up to Christmas.

These seasonal services will depart on Friday 13 and 20 December, whereby passengers will be able to fly from Darwin and Kununurra direct to Perth.

A return service to Kununurra and Darwin will depart Perth on the following Saturday afternoon.

The added services will allow travellers to indulge in some Christmas shopping in Western Australia's bustling Perth capital or spend some important festive time with the family.

Similarly, Perth and Kununurra customers will be able to travel to the tropical Top End, to spend time with family and marvel at the natural wonders the wet season brings spectacularly to life.

Customers will enjoy free 20kg checked luggage, refreshments and the convenience of no middle seat on-board the 76 seat aircraft.

3. Excess Baggage Overhaul

We recently revised the excess baggage rates that will be charged on departure at check-in at Airnorth ports. These new rates will continue to be charged on a per kilo basis. Additionally, we have introduced a new concept of pre-paid excess baggage. If your clients believe they will need more checked baggage than the Airnorth inclusive allowance per person*, then we now offer the opportunity to purchase pre-paid blocks of five (5) kilos. The pre-paid excess baggage can only be booked through our reservations call centre (Tel: 1800 627 474). Carriage of excess baggage is subject to Airnorth's standard conditions of carriage.

*inclusive checked baggage twenty (20) kilos for jet services (E170) and thirteen (13) kilos for turboprop (E120) services.

4. 'Bruce Munro: Tropical Light'

The Top End has much to boast about this 'wet' season as Darwin welcomes Bruce Munro, a world-renowned artist best known for immersive large-scale light-based installations. Mr. Munro will be lighting up the city of Darwin from 1 November to 30 April with a collection of eight large-scale installations that will span a 2.5-kilometre walking trail through the Darwin CBD and Waterfront precinct. The display will include a collection of new and existing works that reflect Mr Munro's experiences in Australia and the Territory, including Darwin's natural beauty, distinct wildlife, welcoming locals and spectacular sunsets. It will be the largest Australian exhibition undertaken by Mr Munro to date and is titled 'Bruce Munro: Tropical Light'. The exhibition is a free event, open to all ages. There are many ways to view the exhibition whether by a leisurely stroll along the walking trail or one of the unique tours designed specifically for the exhibition by local Darwin operators.
